Elite Academy of Dance was established in 2009 and since its humble beginnings has earned the reputation of becoming Inverclyde's Premier School of Classical Ballet. Students classes and lessons are taught in a Private Studio based in the centre of Greenock. Students are taught by trained Royal Academy of Dance teachers who live and are based in Inverclyde. Students start from age 2 upwards and follow Royal Academy of Dance Training. Students sit RAD exams on a yearly basis, and the schools results have since 2010 been well above UK averages. Students from Elite Academy of Dance have gone onto Ballet West, Scottish Ballet Associate Programme and The Dance School of Scotland. The high light of every year is the Summer Show, which has now gained the reputation of being one of the best shows in town. Elite Academy of Dance specialise in Classical Ballet, it is not taught as an add on or in conjunction with drama, singing or acting classes. Dedicated time and focus will allow students to get the most out of Ballet right here in Greenock. On top of offering Royal Academy of dance exams Elite Academy of Dance will be the first Dance school in Greenock to also offer Higher Dance. The Higher Dance course will be made available to all students over 14, and will be based on Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance. The Higher Dance course will commence in Aug 2015 with Examinations being taken the following May.
